Steer Angle Change

The steer or toe angle is defined as the angle measured in the top elevation between the longitudinal axis of the vehicle and the line of intersection of the wheel plane and the road surface. Steer angle is measured in degrees and taken as positive if the front of the wheel points inwards as shown in Figure.

WF: Wheel Front Marker id.

WC: Wheel Centre Marker id.

The calculation of steer angle is converted from radians to degrees by the factor of 180/p and uses the following system variables:

DX (WCid, WFid) - the X axis of the displacement of the wheel centre marker relative to the wheel front marker referenced to the Ground Reference Frame (GRF).

DY (WCid, WBid) - the Y axis of the displacement of the wheel centre marker relative to the wheel front marker referenced to the Ground Reference Frame (GRF).
